5.4 Extract Time from Date Time Object

To extract just the time from a date time object we can use hms::as_hms() We’ll use lubridate::now() to generate a date time object, saved into the variable timestamp, to illustrate base::date(). The function can also be applied to a vector (column) of data.

timestamp <- now()

time <- hms::as_hms(timestamp)

time
